Becoming an effective and productive lawyer is like preparing for a marathon with a number of hurdles scattered throughout the course. You must not only learn a body of legal doctrine, but also acquire essential lawyering skills and life management tools. This website is designed to help you prepare to enter the profession by providing a road map of what you will need to do to feel well-prepared and confident each step of the way.

Click on the gray bars above to learn more about the tools and resources that will help you prepare to enter the legal profession. The first bar, “1000 Days to Practice,” offers advice, reading lists, articles, and links to help you prepare while in law school. The second bar, “600 Hours to Pass the Bar,” also includes advice, as well as a number of practical links to learn more about exam registration and practice questions, bar preparation courses, and bar loan programs. We have also included a timeline for your three years in law school, as well as the solid 10 weeks of post-grad bar study you’ll need to pass the bar exam.

Please feel free to contact any of your professors, any staff (but especially the folks in Student Services and Career Services) to discuss your personal bar-pass strategy and future career as an attorney. We are behind you every step of the way!
